LEGAL NOTICE
TOWN OF BARKHAMSTED
NOVEMBER 2, 2021 MUNICIPAL ELECTION
 
The legal voters of the Town of Barkhamsted are hereby notified and warned that the Biennial Election of the Town of Barkhamsted will be held in said Town on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 for the purpose of electing all the Town officers required and authorized by law to be elected on said date as follows:  First Selectman, Selectman, Town Clerk, Town Treasurer, Board of Finance,  Board of Finance to Fill Vacancy for Two Years, Board of Finance Alternate, Board of Finance Alternate to Fill Vacancy for Four Years, Board of Education, Board of Education to Fill Vacancy for Two Years, Board of Assessment Appeals, Board of Assessment Appeals to Fill Vacancy for Two Years, Planning and Zoning Commission-Five Year Term Begins 2022,  Planning and Zoning Commission-Five Year Term Begins 2023,  Planning and Zoning Commission Alternate-Five Year Term Begins 2023,  Zoning Board of Appeals-Five Year Term Begins 2022,  Zoning Board of Appeals-Five Year Term Begins 2023,  Zoning Board of Appeals Alternate-Five Year Term Begins 2023, Regional Board of Education. 
 
Notice is hereby given that the location of the polling place will be at the Barkhamsted Elementary School, 65 Ripley Hill Road, Pleasant Valley, CT. Optical Scan Voting machines will be used. Election Day Registration (EDR) will be held in the Registrar of Voters office located on the lower level of Town Hall, 67 Ripley Hill Road, Pleasant Valley, CT. The polls and the EDR location will be opened at six o'clock in the morning (6:00 A.M.) and will remain open until eight o'clock at night (8:00 P.M.).

Municipal Elections for the Town of Barkhamsted will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021.  Absentee ballots will be available beginning October 1, 2021.  You may download the application form here

and submit to the town clerk.  A ballot will be sent to you within 48 hours of receipt of the application. Paper copies of the application form may also be requested at any time by calling 860-379-8665 or by stopping at the town clerk’s office during business hours.
As time is now short, your absentee ballot can be given to you in person in the office of the town clerk rather than through the mail.  You may apply for a ballot any day the office is open up through Monday, November 1.
