I hope everyone is able to celebrate Valentine's Day today and President's Day tomorrow, even though this past year has not given us a lot of cause for celebration. However, the good news is that the vaccines are starting to roll out at a faster pace and more and more of us are able to get vaccinated. The other good news is that our infection rates are dropping and the Town came out of the red category this past week.
The Town Hall staff is providing assistance to those Barkhamsted residents 65 and older, who have not been able to schedule appointments through the VAMS system or through their healthcare provider.
The Farmington Valley Health District has set up a number of clinics and has given us access to the schedule, so we can make appointments for those who are eligible. Besides the on-going clinics in neighboring towns, the FVHD will be conducting clinics at the Praise Christian Church on Route 44 every other week, beginning February 22.
Please call Town Hall if you need help getting an appointment and you are eligible. The Town Hall is closed on Monday for Presidents Day, but we will be there starting at 8:30 on Tuesday. You can call either 860-379-8285 or 860-379-1314.
Stay safe and healthy, and let's keep our progress going in the right direction by taking the appropriate safety precautions.
