The Governor announced today that an age-based approach to COVID-19 Vaccine Eligibility will begin on March 1, 2021. Every three weeks after that date, the eligibility will be expanded to another age group. If you would like to read the announcement, the link to the press release is here
Now that younger residents are becoming eligible, the number of folks who are eligible for appointments will exceed the Town’s ability to make the appointments for all these groups. Our expectation is that folks under 65 typically have email addresses and also have some familiarity with computers and the internet. Based on that knowledge, there are many ways to schedule appointments.
· If you have an account through your healthcare provider, please work with that organization to get your appointment. Hartford Healthcare, Trinity Healthcare and Starling Physicians all have links on their homepages related to COVID and vaccinations.
· If you do not have such an account, you can go through the State of Connecticut website (click here
) or the 211 System (click here
) to locate clinics and to make an appointment.
· Many of these locations use the VAMS system to schedule you once you are registered in VAMS. This system and how to use it is described in this link
If you are unable to make an appointment, please call the Town Hall and we will try to provide help or guidance. We hope you understand that we are not staffed for the number of residents who are now becoming eligible for vaccinations, but we do want to help those who are not able to schedule their vaccination.
