Holly Krouse, Barkhamsted Town Clerk, would like to remind all dog owners that per CT State Statute 22-338, all dogs aged 6 months and older must be licensed
each year during the month of June. The spaying/neutering certificate and an updated rabies certificate may be necessary. Rabies dates must be valid through July of each year to be considered valid. The fees continue to be $8.00 for spayed/neutered dogs and $19.00 for intact dogs. Due to the CoVid-19 pandemic this year, please consider renewing your dog license via mail. You may send a check made out to Barkhamsted
Town Clerk along with any necessary paperwork to 67 Ripley Hill Road, Barkhamsted, CT 06063. Please also include a self-addressed, postage paid envelope for return of the license, tag, and your paperwork. You are also welcome to insert your renewal paperwork into the locked black mailbox located outside the lower level side door. Please be sure it is in an envelope. If you prefer to come into the building, the office hours are still Mon., Tues. and Thurs. 9-4, Wed. 9-5 and Fri. 9-12, however we may be restricting customers allowed in the town hall to one-at-a-time along with other rules so there may be a longer wait time. If you would like to know if you need to show an updated rabies certificate or what your total payment would be or any other questions, please don’t hesitate to call (860) 379-8665 or send an email to hkrouse@barkhamsted.us . Thank you and stay safe!
